The Project

Given its location in a Conservation Area, the tradition and history of this property had to be respected in any additions. The sympathetic additions enabled the clients to make use of some excellently crafted, bespoke glazing and material finishes.

It was important to consider this project as a whole, with a harmony being displayed between the existing and the new elements. The attention to detail throughout and great use of tasteful internal touches provides a really striking finish.

Design Challenge

The external façade to the rear had been rendered over some years back. The decision was made to expose the brick, and then build the rear extension parts in a style similar to match that of the original. Great care and thought went into the brickwork colour, the type of bond used and the quoining details around the openings. The result is evident as the new and old live seamlessly side by side.
