The Project

It was time for this property to benefit from a makeover. Although the existing house was functional, it offered little in the way of a striking rear appearance. The clients came to us with a concept in mind, which then evolved into a means to not only create an excellent kitchen/living space and a hub for the house, but also to become a perfect example of how to bring the exterior into the room.

Design Challenge

The existing property was already fairly large and the landscaping of the site was extensive. The client had a keen eye for design, which is evident in the finishing detail, therefore the extension had to uphold this vision and compliment the natural elements of the site.

The idea was to introduce curves into the rear elevation, at both ground and first floor with feature glazing. This not only created a unique form, it made best use of the site by allowing comfortable circulation around the extension. The property has been beautifully lit and finished with some very impressive internal joinery to really make the living spaces within the extension a focal point of the house.
