The Project

As an already highly recognisable house, the brief was to improve the space internally and extend to the rear to better suit the client's needs. The building, while magnificent and striking, was largely dilapidated internally and a plan was devised to carry out much needed repair and enhancements throughout.

The modern rear extension provides a connection between the kitchen space and the beautiful garden, making it feel altogether very homely despite the size. The high standard of finish throughout, combined with the attention to detail externally have achieved hugely successful results.

Design Challenge

The garden was impressive and divided into various sections of planting and lawn, as well as the pool and water features. The client had wished for the garden not to be fully re-designed but instead the extension wing designed around it. The landscaping was then only tweaked and repaired to suit. Large areas of the pond had to be excavated due to leaking on the site. This will now make way for the new garage extension works due for completion in 2019!
